Car rental company CarRental India has raised $2.6 million to expand its footprint in India, according to a statement posted on its website.
The company, which has a presence in more than a dozen cities in the country, said the funding will be used to further expand its presence in cities across the country.
“We are very excited about the opportunity to expand our presence in Mumbai, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad and Goa,” the statement said.
“The addition of our local presence will provide more affordable car rental services to our customers in the region, as well as provide additional opportunities for our employees to earn a living through the employment of our services.”
CarRental said it has already added more than 30 million rental cars in the last three years, with the company also targeting to add more than 20 million rental vehicles by 2020.
India has more than 6.3 million car rental properties, according the company.
